Com muito carinho fomos acolhidas e acolhidos no XXXIII Concílio da Igreja, em Cacoal/RO, na sede da Comunidade Caminhos da Fé, Paróquia dos Migrantes, Sínodo da Amazônia, nos dias 19 a 23 de outubro de 2022. As altas temperaturas foram amenizadas pelo cuidado que experimentamos nesses dias e pelo ambiente amigável de convívio e de trabalho. Além da participação de 90 conciliares, também 20 representantes de igrejas parceiras se fizeram presentes e trouxeram sua saudação e disposição renovada de unir esforços na missão de testemunhar Jesus Cristo.

Sob o tema das Bem-aventuranças, conforme Mateus 5.3-12, refletimos sobre nosso compromisso cristão diante de questões prementes, como a preservação das vidas no bioma amazônico e a crise climática no mundo, o respeito para com os povos originários, a dignidade das gerações futuras, a vivência de relações justas entre as pessoas e da paz em toda a criação de Deus. Jesus Cristo nos desacomoda quando anuncia que “felizes são as pessoas que têm fome e sede de justiça” (Mateus 5.6) e nos conclama a participarmos da edificação do Seu Reino como pessoas pacificadoras.

Chegamos às comunidades da IECLB e da Ecumene, no Brasil e no exterior, por meio da transmissão do Concílio pelas redes sociais. Vivemos cada vez mais em uma sociedade conectada e polarizada, o que exige de nós cuidado com o manuseio das ferramentas da internet, que podem servir ao bem ou ao mal. Também na IECLB temos experimentado tensões. Os dedos teclam do que o coração está cheio. A fé no Senhor da Vida nos leva a sermos instrumentos na promoção da Verdade.

Entre os momentos marcantes mencionamos as celebrações, palestras, motivação para as comemorações dos 200 anos de presença luterana no Brasil e o estudo de temas relevantes para a missão da Igreja. Destacamos o testemunho de lideranças indígenas da Rondônia. Salientamos a aprovação do documento Política de Justiça de Gênero e a adoção de propostas de políticas socioambientais em toda a IECLB.

A Presidência da IECLB foi reeleita: Pa. Silvia Beatrice Genz, pastora presidente; P. Odair Airton Braun, 1º vice-presidente; P. Dr. Mauro Batista de Souza, 2º vice-presidente.

Assim como os frutos da Amazônia, vistosos aos nossos olhos no ambiente do Concílio, trazem vida às populações que deles se alimentam, também, nós, fortalecidas e fortalecidos pelas Bem-aventuranças, retornamos às nossas Comunidades, Paróquias e Sínodos, com a diversidade dos sabores propiciados pelas múltiplas vivências e decisões compartilhadas e o colorido das partilhas experimentadas.

Conciliares do XXXIII Concílio da IECLB

MESSAGE OF THE 33RD CHURCHWIDE ASSEMBLY OF THE EVANGELICAL CHURCH OF LUTHERAN CONFESSION IN BRAZIL

There are signs of peace and grace in this world that still belongs to God. In the midst of the powers of darkness, forces of heaven are manifested. (LCI 582)

We were welcomed with great cordiality to the XXXIII Churchwide Assembly by the people of the Comunidade Caminhos da Fé, Paróquia dos Migrantes, Sínodo da Amazônia, from 19 to 23 October 2022, in the city of Cacoal/State of Rondônia. High temperatures were tempered by kindness and care and the friendly environment of work and conviviality. In addition to 90 voting assembly members, we were blessed by the presence of 20 representatives of partner churches and ecumenical councils who conveyed their greetings and renewed willingness to witness together in the mission of Jesus Christ.

Under the theme of the Beatitudes of Matthew 5:3-12, we reflected on our Christian commitment in the face of pressing issues such as the preservation of life in the Amazon biome and the global climate crisis, respect for indigenous peoples, the dignity of future generations, the experience of just relationships between human beings, and peace in all of God's creation. Jesus Christ wakes us up when He proclaims, Blessed are the people who hunger and thirst for justice (Matthew 5:6) and invites us to participate as peacemakers in building His kingdom.

Broadcasting sessions of the Assembly through social media allowed us to reach congregations of the IECLB and other churches, in Brazil and other countries. We live more and more in a connected and polarized society. That requires us to be careful about the use of Internet tools that can serve for good or evil. We have also experienced tensions within the IECLB. Fingers tap what the heart is full of. Faith in the Lord of life leads us to be instruments for promoting truth.

Some highlights of the Assembly include worship services, lectures, motivation to celebrate 200 years of Lutheran presence in Brazil, and the study of topics relevant to the mission of the Church. A very important moment was the testimony of indigenous leaders of the State of Rondônia. The Assembly approved the adoption of the Gender Justice Policy and proposals for social-environmental measures to be implemented throughout the IECLB.

The Presidency of the IECLB for 2023-2026 was re-elected: Pastor Sílvia Beatrice Genz as Church President, Pastor Odair Airton Braun as 1st Vice President, Pastor Dr. Mauro Batista de Souza as 2nd Vice President.

Fruits of the Amazon give life to the people who feed on them. Assembly participants had the chance to see and taste some of those fruits. With the strength that comes from the fruits and from the Beatitudes, we return to our congregations, parishes, and synods, bringing with us the diversity of aromas resulting from the multiple experiences, shared decisions, and colorful exchange.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God (Matthew 5:9)

Es gibt Zeichen des Friedens und der Gnade in dieser Welt, die noch Gott gehört.
Inmitten der Mächte der Finsternis werden die Kräfte des Himmels offenbar. (LCI 582)

Mit großer Herzlichkeit wurden wir bei der XXXIII Kirchenkonzils in Cacoal/RO, am Sitz der Gemeinde Caminhos da Fé, Paróquia dos Migrantes, Sínodo da Amazônia, vom 19. bis 23. Oktober 2022 empfangen. Die hohen Temperaturen wurden durch die Fürsorge, die wir in diesen Tagen erfahren haben, und die freundliche Gemeinschaft- und Arbeitsatmosphäre gemildert. Neben 90 Delegierten waren auch 20 Vertreterinnen und Vertreter von Partnerkirchen anwesend und überbrachten ihre Grüße und ihre erneuerte Bereitschaft, gemeinsam in der Mission Jesus Christus zu bezeugen.

Unter dem Thema der Seligpreisungen nach Matthäus 5,3-12 haben wir über unser christliches Engagement angesichts von drängenden Fragen nachgedacht, wie z.B. die Erhaltung des Lebens im Amazonas-Biom und die weltweite Klimakrise, der Respekt gegenüber den Ureinwohnern, die Würde künftiger Generationen, die Erfahrung gerechter Beziehungen zwischen Menschen und des Friedens in der gesamten Schöpfung Gottes. Jesus Christus aktiviert uns, wenn er verkündet: Selig sind die Menschen, die nach Gerechtigkeit hungern und dürsten (Matthäus 5,6) und uns auffordert, als Friedensstifter am Aufbau seines Reiches mitzuwirken.

Durch die Übertragung des Kirchenkonzils über soziale Netzwerke haben wir Gemeinden der IECLB und der Ökumene in Brasilien und im Ausland erreicht. Wir leben mehr und mehr in einer vernetzten und polarisierten Gesellschaft. Das erfordert von uns, vorsichtig mit der Nutzung von Internet-Tools umzugehen, die zum Guten oder zum Bösen dienen können. Auch in der IECLB haben wir Spannungen erlebt. Die Finger tippen, wovon das Herz voll ist. Der Glaube an den Herrn des Lebens führt uns dazu, Werkzeuge zur Förderung der Wahrheit zu sein.

Zu den Höhepunkten der Kirchenversammlung gehörten die Gottesdienste, Vorträge, die Motivation für die Feier der 200-jährigen lutherischen Präsenz in Brasilien und das Studium von Themen, die für die Mission der Kirche relevant sind. Wir heben das Zeugnis von indigenen Leitungspersonen von Rondônia hervor. Hervorzuheben ist auch die Verabschiedung des Dokuments Gender Justice Policy und die Annahme von Vorschlägen für sozial-ökologische Maßnahmen in der gesamten IECLB.

Das Präsidium der IECLB wurde wiedergewählt: Pastorin Sílvia Beatrice Genz als Kirchenpräsidentin, Pastor Odair Airton Braun als 1. Vizepräsident, P. Dr. Mauro Batista de Souza als 2. Vizepräsident.

So wie die Früchte Amazoniens, die wir im Umfeld des Kirchenkonzils gesehen haben, den Menschen, die sich von ihnen ernähren, Leben schenken, so kehren auch wir, gestärkt durch die Seligpreisungen, in unsere Gemeinden, Pfarrverbände und Synoden zurück, mit der Vielfalt der Aromen, die sich aus den vielfältigen Erfahrungen, den gemeinsamen Entscheidungen und dem bunten Austausch ergeben haben.

Selig sind, die Frieden stiften, denn sie werden Gottes Kinder heißen (Matthäus 5,9)
