BIBLE STUDY 24
PSALM 55
Biblical rereading with a gender perspective, community work of the women of the “Tienda Roja (Red Tend)”, Iglesia Cristo ILM. Mexican Lutheran Church.
Translation: Elisa Pérez Trejo.

A WOMAN´S PRAYER

“Today I woke up, I would not have wanted to open my eyes, because my world remains the same.
I haven't stopped crying, I think I cried all night.
I wonder, God, where are you?
My heart hurts, death haunts me every day.
I tremble with fear, I tremble with fear! My body is sick and weak.
I would like to fly, to have wings, I would fly very far! I'd run from everything, from this space!
I would go very far, I would cross valleys, seas and rivers, and I would rest in the desert.
Yes, in the dry and lifeless desert, to die, to rest, to wait ...
What can I expect? That God Will save me?
How I would like you to destroy them, their violence is beyond my strength.
I come into conscience, and it is not just anyone who has violated me,
It has been you: my intimate, friend, my love, my adviser, my intimate companion, my guide, my family member, with whom I gently spoke of our secrets.
You, with whom I shared my faith and my prayer, with whom I walked to the place of peace and solace.
I didn't expect it and I don't know how to get out of the blows, the offenses, this prison.
God, I cry out to you day and night, listen to me!

QUESTIONS TO REFLECT.

1 - We have all read this testimony together, how do we feel when we read it?
2 - Let's think together: What happened to this woman?
3 - Let's reflect: It is a voice of help, God listens to it. Who else needs to hear this voice?
4 - What do we need to do so that the voices for help are heard?

Let us all talk about our experiences, listen to the testimonies, together we work on safe and peaceful paths.

A vida cristã não consiste em sermos piedosos, mas em nos tornarmos piedosos. Não em sermos saudáveis, mas em sermos curados. Não importa o ser, mas o tornar-se. A vida cristã não é descanso, mas um constante exercitar-se.
